Principal's Message

Dear SPARKS Families, 

Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year at YES Prep Southside Elementary! We are excited to begin another year of learning, growth, and achievement alongside our students and families. It is truly an honor to serve the Southside community, and I am grateful that you have entrusted us with your child’s educational journey. 

At Southside Elementary, we believe every child deserves access to an excellent education in a safe, joyful, and supportive environment. Our commitment goes far beyond academics—we are dedicated to helping our students build the confidence, character, and skills needed to thrive in elementary school, middle school, high school, college, and the life they choose for themselves beyond graduation. 

As partners in this work, we know that strong collaboration between families and schools is essential to student success. Our staff is committed to maintaining high expectations while providing the care, encouragement, and support every student needs to reach their fullest potential. Together, we will continue creating a school community where all students are known, challenged, and celebrated. 

As we begin the school year, I encourage all families to review the YES Prep Unified Student Handbook along with the Southside Elementary Campus Supplement. These resources contain important information regarding campus expectations, policies, and supports that will help ensure a successful school year for every SPARK.
